Our Attorneys
A.C. Strip
A.C. "Ace" Strip is one of the founders and a principal in the firm and has practiced law for more than 60 years. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from The Ohio State University, he received a Juris Doctor degree in 1960.
Mr. Strip concentrates his practice in the field of business, with a heavy emphasis on corporate insolvency and work-out plans. He has extensive business experience, having handled several hundred corporate insolvencies, both in State court and Federal Bankruptcy court. He is regularly appointed by courts in many Ohio counties to oversee financially distressed businesses.
John Wm. Hoppers
John Hoppers, a founder of the firm, concentrates in the areas of planning and execution of business transactions, organization of professional practices, and business formation. He also works extensively in estate planning, probate matters, and state receivership law. He has served as a hearing officer for the Ohio State Dental Board, the Ohio State Medical Board and has been rated AV by the Martindale-Hubbell rating of attorney performance.
Mr. Hoppers is a member of the Ohio and Columbus Bar Associations and The CBA Foundation, admitted to practice in the Courts of Ohio, the Federal District Court, and the United States Supreme Court.
Paul Leithart II
Paul Leithart II, as officer and partner since 1988, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College in 1977, and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Capital University Law School in 1981.
Mr. Leithart is licensed to practice in all Ohio courts, the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. His experience includes representing clients in the Franklin County, Ohio Probate, Municipal, Common Pleas and Domestic Relations Courts, the Ohio Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court. Mr. Leithart has represented clients in matters which were brought before the United States Supreme Court.
Timothy J. McGrath
A partner in the firm, Tim McGrath earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Juris Doctor cum laude from The Ohio State University. He is an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialist in Business, Commercial, and Industrial Real Property Law and has been honored as an Ohio Super Lawyer from 2008 through 2013.
His practice focuses on all phases of real estate and includes probate, estate planning, and business law. He is one of a few Ohio attorneys experienced with representing appraisers before the Ohio Real Estate Appraiser Board. He is a member of the Columbus and Ohio State Bar Associations and has held several chairman positions with the Columbus Bar Association.
Myron N. Terlecky
Myron Terlecky’s areas of practice include debtor and creditor representation in commercial and consumer bankruptcy matters, business workouts, loan restructurings, business/asset acquisitions, and transactions, and state court insolvency proceedings. He is a partner in the firm.
He handles nearly all types of bankruptcy matters, including representing creditors in Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13, representing debtors in Chapters 7 and 11, and has been a member of the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the Southern District of Ohio since 1990. He has served as a court-appointed receiver of various companies and has served as a Chapter 11 Trustee.
Nelson E. Genshaft
With more than 45 years as a lawyer, Nelson Genshaft’s practice focuses on business litigation, professional responsibility, regulatory matters, and administrative agency law as a partner in the firm.
Mr. Genshaft attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (B.S. 1970) and Case Western Reserve University School of Law (J.D. 1973). He first worked as a regulator at the Ohio Division of Securities, then as Assistant Attorney General representing various agencies that regulated financial institutions. Before joining the Strip Hoppers law firm, Mr. Genshaft was a partner with Schwartz, Warren & Ramirez for 20 years, then as a partner in his own law firm, Wolman and Genshaft, for eight years.
Ken Goldberg
An officer and partner in the firm, Ken Goldberg earned an undergraduate degree in 1987 from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and a law degree in 1992 from Capital University Law School.
Mr. Goldberg was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1992, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio in 1994, and the Sixth District Court of Appeals in 1999.
A member of the Columbus and Ohio State Bar Associations, Mr. Goldberg is active in the Columbus Bar Association's Family Relations Law, Business Tax, and Common Pleas Committees. He is an experienced and resourceful attorney whose practice areas include state court receiverships, family relations law, estate planning, business, and personal insolvency advice, business formation and planning, and general civil litigation.
Joel R. Campbell
A partner in the law firm, Mr. Campbell graduated with a Juris Doctor from The University of Akron where he was selected to the Akron Law Review Board of Editors. He previously received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. He began law practice handling a variety of trial matters as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Franklin County, Ohio.
He is admitted to the practice of law before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Northern and Southern District Courts of Ohio, and the Ohio Supreme Court.
A highly rated trial lawyer, Mr. Campbell concentrates his practice on civil litigation, such as business matters, domestic relations, and personal injury, but he also assists with planning matters for families and smaller businesses.
Aaron C. Firstenberger
Aaron Firstenberger, a partner, joined the firm as an associate following his admission to the Ohio Bar in November 2000. He received his Juris Doctorate from Capital University in 2000, graduating cum laude. Mr. Firstenberger is a 1992 graduate of Otterbein College in Westerville.
Over 20 years of practice, he has acted as counsel to court-appointed Receivers in hundreds of cases across the State of Ohio, as well as representing the interests of debtor companies and creditors in numerous other receiverships. He has presented on the topic at several Continuing Legal Education seminars and to other organizations.
In addition to receivership practice, his general civil practice includes real estate, transactional business work including buy-sell agreements and wind-downs or dissolutions, liquor law, and appellate practice.
John W. Kennedy
John W. Kennedy joined the firm in 2016 with over 25 years of experience practicing law. He graduated with honors from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in English, and from The Ohio State University College of Law with a Juris Doctor. Following law school, Mr. Kennedy served as a judicial law clerk in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Youngstown, Ohio.
Mr. Kennedy’s practice includes almost all areas of bankruptcy law, including representing debtors and creditors in consumer and business bankruptcy cases, as well as bankruptcy court litigation. For nearly eight years, he was a staff attorney for three Chapter 13 trustees, where he drafted policy statements and handled all litigation and appeals.
Chad A. Foisset
Chad A. Foisset joined the firm in 2020 with 20 years of professional experience, including 16 years engaged in the practice of law at Price Law Firm, LLC, and four years of service as a tax consultant in Big Four public accounting.
With his prior service in a general law practice, Mr. Foisset has extensive experience in assisting individuals and businesses over a variety of legal areas, including Family Law, Estate Planning, Business Formation and Planning, Probate, Consumer Bankruptcy, and general civil litigation.
Originally from Granville, Ohio, Chad earned his Bachelor's degree from Miami University (B.A., 1996), and law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law (J.D., 1999).
Gary Paul Price
Of Counsel
Gary Paul Price was admitted to the practice of law in 1973 and started his own law firm after discharge from Active Duty in the United States Air Force. While on active duty, Mr. Price served as a judge Advocate General; he continued his service to our country for over 33 years in the United States Air Force Reserve, retiring in 2004 as a Colonel (06). His final assignment was in the Office of the Judge Advocate General, the Pentagon, Washington D.C
Mr. Price earned his Bachelors degree from Otterbein College (B.A., 1970), and Law degree from The University of Toledo, College of Law (J.D., 1973). He is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, in the United States District Court, Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio; in the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Ohio; and in the United States District Court of Michigan. Gary is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Columbus Bar Association; he is also a member of the Retired Judge Advocates General Association and Military Officers Association of America.
Loni R. Sammons
Loni R. Sammons, an associate, joined the firm in 2022 following her admission to the Ohio Bar. In 2019, Ms. Sammons graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She later graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2022.
During her time at Moritz, she served as Vice-President of the Women’s Legal Society, a Senator of the Student Bar Association, and Chief Note Editor of the Ohio State Business Law Journal. While in law school, she also provided legal representation to local businesses in a variety of governance and transactional matters through Moritz’s Entrepreneurial Business Law Clinic.
Ms. Sammons focuses her practice on general business matters, including business formation, dissolution, and commercial transactions. In addition to her business practice, her civil practice includes general litigation matters and estate planning.
Our Paralegal Staff
Diane L. Severance
Diana L. Severance is a paralegal who joined the firm in 2001. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech and Hearing from The Ohio State University in 1981, and her paralegal certificate from Capital University Law School Certified Legal Assistant Program in 1994.
Ms. Severance assists multiple attorneys of the firm with business, real estate, and probate matters, with her primary focus on estate administrations.
Prior to joining the firm, she spent six years in a non-tradition paralegal role as an Ohio Worker’s Compensation Claims Examiner for a local third-party administrator.
Ms. Severance is a member of the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Paralegal Association of Ohio.
